One of the cheapest places to buy petrol in West Wales is at the Cross Hands Services on the A48 east of Carmarthen.

Try the A40 via Oxford to Lampeter and then on to the Ceredigion coast.
It might take all day but there is a very pleasant journey through some interesting
towns and villages.
The scenery of the Breacon Beacons in Mid Wales is delightful.
From London and Southern England. (About 4-5 hours) M4 /A48 to Carmarthen and then the A484 to Newcastle Emlyn and Cardigan.
From the North Midlands (About 3 hours) Try the M54/A5 to Telford, then A458/A470/A489 to Machynlleth and the A487 to Aberystwyth.
